Nonprofits play a vital role in addressing various societal challenges. However, ensuring the sustainability of these organizations can be challenging. Of note, in the global south there has been a lot of development activities that haven’t translated in lasting impact.
This is why at Amal Outreach with a mission to promote access to quality health care and sustainable social services for low-income households across marginalized, urban, and underserved communities, we have established Iyewo clinic, a sustainable healthcare model as a social enterprise to cater to the needs of the informal market in Lagos Island.
Our clinic is a comprehensive primary health clinic that provides a mix of in-clinic, home care and telemedicine.
We’ve also worked in a financing model that alleviates financial burden on daily earners in the market.
3 years ago, Amal Outreach launched a 4-days health fair program that provided health education, free blood pressure and blood sugar tests with medication for 1000 beneficiaries.
Join us in providing access to quality healthcare in underserved communities in Nigeria
This was followed by 2-years of case monitoring and home care for individuals who were discovered to be hypertensive and or diabetic at the fair.
The move to establish Iyewo was made after careful consideration of our vision to create sustainable healthcare and development and assessment results of our impact on the community.
Every Wednesday from September 13th to October 4th we’re having a 4-days outreach program to introduce Iyewo to the community.
By focusing on sustainability through Iyewo, we are ensuring that we have the resources we need to continue our work and achieve our goals.
