Adopt a Patient Campaign is a call to action for individuals, organizations, and communities to step in and make a life-changing difference. By adopting a patient, you are directly contributing to someone’s healing journey, restoring hope and dignity.
The Need for Action
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in 2019, out-of-pocket health spending dragged 344 million people further into extreme poverty and 1.3 billion into relative poverty. Statistics show that a significant percentage of people globally are pushed into poverty each year due to out-of-pocket medical expenses. For many, the choice is between feeding their families or getting the care they need. This is where the Adopt a Patient Campaign comes in, to bridge the gap between patients and the resources they desperately need.
The Importance of the Adopt a Patient Campaign
- Many patients delay treatment due to financial constraints, leading to worsening health conditions.
- Beyond finances, patients often face isolation and anxiety.
- Helping those in need fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility within communities.
